Cal-ESAR is governed by a seven member board, five of which are voting members. The voting positions are:
Board elections- The Board is elected annually for a one year term. Elections are held the first week of June with the Board assuming their positions on July 1st. Members of the current board can be reelected. The Nominating committee will solicit additional candidates to create a slate of candidates. A Member not selected by the Nominating committee can submit themselves as a write in candidate. All members with active status are eligible to vote and are notified by unit email of the election and provided a link to cast their vote. The voting membership selects 5 candidates over 21 (Adult) and 1 candidate under 21 (Young Adult). The top 5 adult candidates by votes received and 1 young adult by votes received become the Board. The elected Board selected it's Chairman. The Chairman selects the Vice Chairman. The Board then names the Secretary, Treasurer and Member-at-Large. The Board then names the BSA Liaison. Board Meetings- a Board meeting is held monthly. The meeting time is generally the 3rd Wednesday of the month, but exceptions are occasionally made. The board meetings are posted on the unit calendar generally a year in advance along with a link to the online meeting. Board meetings are public and anyone in the unit can attend. Minutes of board meetings are created by the unit Secretary and posted the week following the meeting. Links to the minutes and other documents can be found below: |
