Email Instructions

New members receive an email inviting to join Cal-ESAR and receive an email address like <first>.<last>@cal-esar.org. This email will look something like this:

Instructions to set up your email account the first time

Some background first:
Some members with other email accounts that use a browser (yahoo.com, gmail.com, or other). The easiest way to do this is to use different browsers for each unique email account. If you do not have 2 browsers, you should try chrome (google "download chrome").

Once you have your browser started, here are the instructions:
  1. Go to website http://www.google.com/a/cal-esar.org
  2. Sign in using your account name "<first>.<last>@cal-esar.org" and the temporary password given to you
  3. Go through the introductory screens. 
  4. Change your password when it asks you to do so.
Now you should be set to start using your cal-esar.org account. You can log out once you've noted your password.

To check your email:
1) go to website: http://mail.cal-esar.org
2) sign in using account "<first>.<last>@cal-esar.org" and your new password
3) accept your invitation to "trainees@cal-esar.org" by reading the email and pushing the "accept" button

May I forward messages to another account?

Yes. Here are the instructions for gmail.com. They also apply to cal-esar.org: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/10957?hl=en
Please note that most internal Cal-ESAR pages will require you to login to your Cal-ESAR account to access, external accounts won't work.
